The book of your hostel, written by everyone who passes through.
Travellers join with their name and country, play a round or play all night, and every round writes a page. Months later, your hostel has a story no other hostel in the world has.
One-off payment of $29.99. No subscription. Runs on your own computer.

Each traveller adds their first name and country, on the hostel's computer or by scanning a code with their own phone. Coming back? Same name, same country, and their stamps are waiting.
Answer in secret and guess who wrote what. Crown someone in the room. Teach everyone a word from home. Take the world quiz. Rounds take a few minutes, so people can drop in and out.
Every round becomes a page in your hostel's own book: answers, words, photos, clips and letters. It stays in a folder on your computer, ready to read, play as a slideshow or print.
Questions are drawn so the room doesn't see the same one again until the whole set has been used.
Everyone answers a question about home in secret. The room guesses who wrote what. Fool the room for bonus stamps.
Who will be awake first tomorrow? Who would survive a desert island? Argue it out, then crown someone.
One traveller teaches a phrase in their language. Everyone tries it out loud. The teacher picks the best attempt.
Write a sealed letter for a stranger who hasn't arrived yet. It opens when the right traveller walks in.
Capitals, food, festivals, flags and wonders. Home advantage for locals, and a Quickfire 10 for a champion.
Every 100th page (or whatever you choose) is golden. The writer breaks a wax seal and wins a prize you set, like a free drink or late check-out.
The first traveller from a new country gets a celebration and a permanent place in the book's arrivals.
"For the next traveller from Brazil." Months later a Brazilian joins, and the letter opens on screen for them.
Every round earns stamps. Travellers rise from Drifter to Wanderer, Nomad and Legend, with a Traveller of the Night each evening.
Show the code on screen. Guests scan it, and a small Bunklore page opens on their phone or tablet. They answer in secret, vote, teach words, write letters and play the quiz from there, while the big screen keeps everyone together.
Needs the hostel's Wi-Fi. Photos and clips stay on the hostel's computer and never pass through the internet.

Travellers pin photos and 15-second clips, always with the agreement of everyone shown. Play the Wall as a slideshow on the TV, or open Tonight: one screen with the room, the photos and the best moments, sized for a single photo to take home.

Hostels that join the free Bunklore network appear on a shared world map, glowing when a game is being played. Travellers can send a letter across the map, to be opened by a stranger in a hostel on the other side of the world.
Travelling letters are for adults, words only, with no links or contact details. Letters can be reported and removed.

Each traveller gets a page of their own: what they said, the words they taught, the rounds they won and the letters they left. They can open it on their phone, photograph it or print it. The whole book prints too, as a keepsake for the hostel.

Before they go, travellers can keep in touch. Weeks later, from the next country, they send a short postcard back to your hostel's book. Staff read each one first and choose what goes in, and a good one appears on the big screen.
A reason to remember your hostel, and a reason to come back.

Everything shows on the common-room screen and on guests' phones.
Every Bunklore copy comes with a free course your hostel can give to guests who join the story. They scan a QR code on screen, or you print gift cards for reception, and they take the course with them on the road.
Bunklore is a single file you open in Chrome or Edge. No accounts to create and no app to install.
Pages, photos and clips are kept in a folder you choose on your own computer. Copy it to a USB stick to back it up.
Guests' photos never leave the hostel. The network only shares your hostel's name, town and simple counts. Read the privacy notice.
You'll download a small zip. Unzip it, open Bunklore, and follow the short guide inside.
What you need: a computer with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, ideally connected to a TV or large screen in the common room. Wi-Fi is needed for guests' phones, the world map and the weather. The game itself works offline.
No. Once it's open on the common-room screen, guests join and play by themselves. Staff only set things up in Settings: the hostel name, prizes, notices and tips.
Yes. Most chapters work from two players, and the quiz works with one. People can drop in for a single round and leave. Their pages stay in the book.
No. Guests scan a code and a web page opens in their phone's browser. They can also just play on the hostel's computer.
They're saved only in the folder on the hostel's computer, and only after the person adding them confirms everyone shown has agreed. Staff can remove any photo or clip at any time.
You do. You choose the list (a free drink, a late check-out, free laundry) and reception honours the claim code. Only offer what you can actually give.
No. The Bunklore network is optional and switched on in Settings. Without it, the game runs entirely on your own computer.
Each copy is for one hostel's premises. If you run more than one hostel, get in touch.
